Michael Kapral was recently tossed out of the New York City Marathon because he insisted upon Joggling with 3 balls. What? Joggling? Jogging plus juggling results in Joggling! In fact, he has set a Guinness Book world record several times for Joggling. That is an amazing skill but one that was not appreciated in the NYC Marathon.

People that are physically coordinated are especially interesting to me. In high school, I was in the marching band. It was not easy marching in a parade behind the horses on a windy day while playing my French Horn and staying in a heel-to-toe “glide step” with my band mates. It requires concentration and coordination. If you mistakenly try a counter march when the others are marking time, FAIL!

Consider the neuroscience of being a drummer. Drummers must have a fundamentally different brain than the rest of us. They can set one beat with their left foot, and another with their right foot. They do all this while their left hand is establishing a completely different beat than the right hand. Their head bobs up and down, and their hair flies all around – amazing! A little boy said to his mother, “When I grow up I want to be a drummer.” His mother replied, “Now honey, you know you can’t do both.”

The Bible teaches us that God is very coordinated. Creation proves that God has harmonized the sun, moon, and stars into perfection. Like a magnificent orchestra performing under the greatest maestro of all, our universe functions in a miraculous manner. Isaiah 40:26 (Message) – ““So—who is like me? Who holds a candle to me?” says The Holy. Look at the night skies: Who do you think made all this? Who marches this army of stars out each night, counts them off, calls each by name—so magnificent! so powerful!— and never overlooks a single one?”

The human body is God’s masterpiece, and has been fearfully and wonderfully made. The Psalmist David wrote in obvious awe, “Oh yes, You shaped me first inside, then out; You formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank You, High God—You’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, You know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, You watched me grow from conception to birth.” (Psalm 139:15-16 – Message)

The coordinated strengths of God prove that He created Heaven and earth. Science can never prove there is no God no matter what Stephen Hawking says. For one thing, how can a human being even contemplate what is going on the eternal universe? It’s just bigger than our brain! Besides, everything us humans have created is finite – limited. Our stuff dies or melts or dissolves or fails in some way. Only God creates the eternal. One last thought. It takes far more twaddle to say there is no God than it takes faith to say there is a God. The obvious evidence that God exists outweighs the theories of the foolish.

So the next time you walk down the street and chew gum at the same time, give praise to a coordinated God who put you together!
